Solo Festival – Congratulations to the students who performed solos on Saturday! Aidan Smith was selected as outstanding soloist of the day! These performers made division one ratings and received a medal. Ben A, Layla A, Judah B, Karnell B, Ava B, Matthew H, Aaron L, Eli N, Rachel O, Chastadie S, Cameron S, Aidan S, Lea T, Martin V, and Gavin W.
Jazz Band – This is the last week to see the jazz band perform. Thursday evening is the spring jazz concert at LHS. Saturday they will perform at the Highlander Jazz Festival in Fort Worth. They have been sounding incredible this year!
Spring Concert – Next Monday, the 13th, is the spring band concert at the CVPA. The symphonic band, wind ensemble, and full orchestra will all perform. The Shackelford band will also perform starting before our concert at 6:00pm. You won’t want to miss this “electric” concert!
Mini Camp – Next Thursday, the 16th, is our marching band mini camp with our incoming 8th graders from Nichols and Shack. All current 9-11 grade band students are required to attend.
Banquet – The spring awards banquet for both band & orchestra will be on Saturday May 18th. Find the flyer and link to buy tickets in the band app.
HundredX – The booster club has kicked off an exciting new fundraiser. It is exciting because you don’t need to spend any money. Just a few minutes of time to fill out a survey. Please share the info that the boosters have sent out with everyone you know.
Calendars – I have attached an updated spring events calendar for the remaining events this spring. I have also attached the new Summer Band Calendar. Please schedule vacations around the summer band practices.
Percussion – Drumline rehearsals every Monday.
Color Guard – Color guard rehearsals every Tuesday.
Jazz – LHS Jazz Spring Concert at Lamar May 9th.
Symphonic Band – Band Spring Concert May 13th.
Wind Ensemble – Band Spring Concert May 13th.
Band Activity Fees – The band general activity fee due. Monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month. As always, please email me directly with any questions or concerns. Pay your band activity fees online here
