Concert Week – Monday is the Lamar orchestra’s fall concert. The symphony orchestra will perform which includes 25 members of the wind symphony. Tuesday is the fall concert for ALL band students. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will need some high school band students to volunteer to assist with the JH band concerts at Lamar.
Lamar Band Fall Concert – ALL band students will arrive at 5:45pm Tuesday evening. At 6:00pm we will take attendance and begin our warm ups. WS will meet in the orchestra room, SB in the band room, FB on the stage. Students will watch the other bands performance. All students will be dismissed at the end of the entire concert. We will have a reception with cookies and punch after the concert. Recordings of the concert will be for sale from the booster club. Students will wear their formal concert attire. We hope to see all parents and families at the concert!
Wind Symphony Auditions – Students have completed their audition requirements. Part of the audition also works as the final exam grade. Freshmen band will perform their performance portion of their final this week.
Inventory and Clean Up – The band staff will be asking student leaders and aspiring future leaders to step up and help clean the band room and help with inventory of band room equipment. Every student is required to take home their blue water jugs, flip books, and any other marching season items they will not need.
Drumline Update – Review your band music as well as the percussion ensemble for Tuesday’s concert.
Jazz Update – Make sure you are working on the holiday jazz charts!
Winterguard Update – Make plans to be productive between the end of school and the beginning of practice. If you must stay on campus, you are to find a classroom to study in, study in the library on Tuesday, or do homework in the band room if it is available. We would prefer that students leave campus during this downtime but we understand that transportation to and from school can be difficult.
