Spring Concert – Next Tuesday is our spring concert at UTA in Irons Recital Hall, 7:00pm. Students will arrive earlier to warm up. Itineraries will be out soon.

End of the Semester – After our final concert, all we have left is the final exam. The audition packets have been handed out and students should already be working on them daily. The other end of semester challenge is that we are having to move ALL equipment out of the band room for renovations. We will be displaced until August band camp. We anticipate needing a lot of extra help from students and parents when we have been given our instructions for where and when we will be moving our equipment.

Leadership – Next year’s field leadership team had a meeting last week to discuss summer camps. Those camps have been added to the Lamar Band calendar.

Letter Jackets – The staff has selected Eric Manto with Meca Sportswear to design custom letter jackets for the Pride of Lamar! He will be at Lamar sizing students with sample jackets on May 14th. He designed a patch that will go on ALL Lamar HS Band jackets. https://mecajackets.com/shop-patches?olsPage=products%2Farlington-lamar-band-crest

The basic jacket with a Lamar “L” with BAND written on it will be $65 plus $10 handling and tax, or $81.19. There will be a price sheet included with options to decorate their jacket as well.

If ordering, students will need to have their payment on order day, May 14. Otherwise they will have about a week to then go online to pay for their order. Remind them as well that I cannot send in their order until Payment is received. If they need some other payment options we can discuss that on the 14th.

Drumline Update – Viking Thunder is Monday May 13th at 7:00pm in Gym B at LHS. This will be an incredible concert that you won’t want to miss!

Jazz Update – The spring jazz concert is almost here! May 16th 7pm at Nichols JH!

Color Guard Update – The color guard has been announced for the fall. We will be 30 members strong! Keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming rehearsals and events.
