Winterguard Contest – This Saturday we host our own NTCA Winterguard contest at Lamar. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We need all available parents and students to help. There are still many different jobs and shifts that need to be filled. Sign up here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0f4bafad22abfb6-ntca
We will have a meeting Friday evening to go over the different jobs and expectations for Saturday. We will also do a lot of set up of the building for the event on Friday evening. The meeting is 7:00pm on Friday night. Set up will start at 5:00pm and go up until the meeting and likely until 9:00pm. On Saturday, we hope to have a huge home crowd to cheer on the Lamar winterguards! Blue performs at 3:25pm and Varsity at 8:11pm. Full schedule here https://goo.gl/DX7DZQ The awards are at 9:45pm and we will need a big crew to help clean up when it’s all over.
Events Calendar – Date change. PastaPalooza has been moved to March 20th. Mark your calendars for this amazing event! The jazz concert that was scheduled on this date has been merged with the PastaPalooza event. We are looking for some great silent auction items.
Solo & Ensemble – UIL Solo & Ens is on March 2nd. Students need to be practicing regularly on their solos and ensembles.
Sectionals – The sectional calendar has been adjusted now that we are past TMEA. As we work on final preparations for our UIL concert and sightreading contest, we are adjusting the sectional schedule. Due to UIL Orchestra next week, we are not have WS rehearsal after school this week. Instead, two days of full orchestra rehearsal.
Spring Trip – The February payments are past due. The final March payment needs to be cash, money order, or online payment. No personal checks.
Drumline Update – The percussion ensembles are working hard on what is sure to be a fantastic series of concerts.
